Attribute Strings
Attribute data strings are used to personalize content based on the context of the Contact or Subscriber to which they are sent. These values are derived from a field or attribute related to the Contact or Subscriber. These can include the following data sources:
- Email Subscriber Profile Attributes
- Sendable Data Extension Fields
- Journey Builder Entry Source Attributes
- MobileConnect Data Strings
- MobileConnect Contact Data Strings
- MobilePush Attributes
- Journey Builder Entry Source
For example, if you have a Profile Attribute named Member ID, then you can reference it as an attribute personalization string in a AMPscript block as [Member ID] or inline like %%Member ID%%.
The same is true if you are sending to a Data Extension with a field named Member ID.
